When God created Adam and Eve, there was only one law, and it was that they should not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:17). However, Adam disobeyed God and triggered the fall of man, as sin was introduced into the bloodstream of the human race. As a result, mankind has drifted further away from God, and the further they drifted, the more the laws governing human behavior increased.
